However there is something about horses and horse riding that is so soothing to the soul – something that we desperately seem to be in need of in these difficult economic times we are currently enduring.

The Thistle Awards 2008
On the 24th of October 2008, the winners of the 2008 Scottish Thistle Awards will be announced at a spectacular function being held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The Scottish Thistle Awards is an initiative that was created by VisitScotland to honor business excellence. Over and above recognizing businesses and the quality services they provide, the media brings attention to VisitScotland and the sponsors of the awards, and in so doing, puts the spotlight on the tourism industry in Scotland.

Venture into the History of the Scottish Highlands
The historic village of Killin sits almost exactly in the center of Scotland, surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of Breadalbane, Scotland’s High Country. Killin is steeped in historical drama, having been the stronghold of the McNabs, and later the Breadalbane Campbells, during the era of Scotland’s history when the true ruling power of the country was in the hands of the clans. It is in this unique setting that the Breadalbane Folklore Center is found.

Edinburgh Treefest and Woodmarket
The seventh Edinburgh Treefest and Woodmarket is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of June 2008. This popular free-admission event, which is held at Inverleith Park, Arboretum Place, Edinburgh, promises plenty of enjoyment for the entire family. The two-day Scottish festival features interactive crafts, displays and stalls, as well as demonstrations of horse logging, tree climbing, axe throwing and extreme mountain biking. Visitors can join in the games and enjoy the live music and entertainment, while feasting on a variety of tasty traditional, and not-so-traditional, treats and refreshments.
